SAM4H
Smart Automation
Manager for Hitachi

We built SAM4H on one idea: do the complex engineering once, and everything after is a simple, safe operation. So whether Hitachi block storage is new to your data center or has run there for years, your team operates it, not a handful of specialists.

  1. The same result on every run, no matter who does it or when.

  2. You always see what a change will do before it happens.

  3. AI that speeds you up without ever getting ahead of you.

How it works

The engineering, made visible

  1. Work your way

Fire a command from the keyboard or click through the menus. For complex jobs, wizards guide you through if you want. The interface bends to how you work, not the other way around.

  2. Your AI plays by your rules

It touches only what you allow, and anything sensitive waits for a person to approve it before it runs. The same gate your team passes through, no exception for the machine.

  3. The tensest job, made calm

Recovering an active-active pair is the moment storage teams hold their breath. The wizard takes it step by step, from selecting the cluster to the final resync, and you can stop at any point.

Highlights

You decide. It happens.

You decide where your storage runs, how it is split, and how it is driven. SAM4H gives you the controls, even on the operations that normally need a specialist.

Resyncing an active-active pair becomes one logical flow, every stage in the right order and checked before the wizard moves on. The resync itself runs only after you have reviewed the summary.

See it in Action

Real screens from SAM4H. Click through and see what running it actually looks like.

  1. Reports you can act from

Pools, volumes, hosts, snapshots, replications, even chargeback: every report filters down to what you need. And when something needs doing, the action sits right next to the numbers, from resync to takeover.

  2. Connect your own AI

SAM4H runs an MCP server, so the AI you already trust can work with your storage. You decide which hosts may reach it, how many requests it may make, and every client is authenticated and logged.

  3. Cluster / Fabric

A clear map of how your clusters and fabrics connect, port to port, without you having to piece it together in your head.

  4. Snapshots

Every snapshot across your arrays in one view: filter by array, status, group or mode, from clones and cascades to Thin Image Advanced. One click shows exactly the set you care about.

  5. Templates

Set your provisioning rules once, the way your environment needs them, and every future volume follows the same recipe, replication and snapshots included, no matter who creates it.

Your first day

Up and running the same afternoon

Setting up storage management is usually a project in itself, and you need specialists to run it. SAM4H puts that expertise into rules and automation, so a small team can do what used to need a big team.

  1. 30 min
    SAM4H installed and running
  2. 5 min
    every array discovered and documented
  3. 1 hr
your service catalogue defined as rules and templates
  4. 2–3 hrs
ready to provision volumes and replications
Peace of mind

We are here if you need us

Over the years, our customers taught us which support actually helps and which just fills a brochure. What made the cut is on this page: getting your setup right, and getting your team ready to run it.

  1. Getting the setup right for you

We get SAM4H installed and configured to your environment, so it fits the way your storage runs from day one. And as your storage changes over time, we can come back to update it, check its health, and tune your templates, so it keeps pace instead of drifting out of date.

  2. Bringing your team up to speed

We run a setup workshop to shape your policies around the way your team already works, then we train your admins to run it day to day. Everything is built around your environment, so instead of an off-the-shelf course, you learn exactly what you actually use.
